It has been far too long since I last posted -- Life gets in the way of your hobbies sometimes. ;-)
Lots to talk about so let's get to it.
Christmas Blues
I've added almost 200 Blues (and Blues-ish) Christmas tracks to the playlist. If my math is correct (that's a stretch, let me tell you) this translates to every 3rd or 4th track. Just because this is a Blues station doesn't mean we can celebrate the Holidays!
We're LIVE bhaybeee!
About 100 years ago (in 1997) when I started Dreamland Blues it was sent 'live'. This increases the complexity of the process some but makes it much easier to make changes to the playlist. When my internet connection became too unreliable to host (Thanks a pant-load Comcast) the stream I was forced to revert to a 'Basic' Live365 station.
Now that I'm 'riding the light' of Verizon's FiOS service my bandwidth is rock solid and I can again return to a 'live' broadcast.
New streaming software
Along with the return to live streaming I'm building a Linux based system to feed the Live365 stream. It's a area where few (anyone?) have feared to tread. I'll be writing up the process and components along the way.
